Break Free from 'All or Nothing': Embrace Your Unique Path to Success with My Flexible Habit Tracker

Updated: Nov 26, 2023

I was thinking the other day about a Habit Tracker Challenge. When I looked back I saw that I have not done a Habit Tracker Challenge since April of 2022. That was a while ago. I love habit trackers !! How could it be so long since I did a challenge?

I love habit trackers and have seen many benefits from using them.

  • Increased Awareness

  • Motivation

  • Accountability

  • Visual Progress

  • Consistency

  • Goal Setting

  • Tracking Progress Over Time

  • Forming New Habits

  • Identifying Problem Area

  • Enjoyable Ritual

I also know that there are some downsides to habit trackers such as:

  • Potentially Stressful

  • Overemphasis on Quantity over Quality

  • Ignoring Unseen Progress

  • Rigidity

  • Lack of Personalization

  • Potential for Guilt and Shame:

  • Not Addressing the Root Causes

  • All or Nothing Mentality

None of these sound appealing to me. I am against all of them. I am all about small changes over time. I embrace the "Something is Better Than Nothing" Mentality. I also know that weight loss is not a one-size-fits-all and that anything weight loss-related should be customizable. I talk about stress reduction and releasing guilt and shame. How can I possibly like habit trackers? Perhaps because I have always just thought of them as a tool in my toolkit and not a strict taskmaster.

I did a video in 2020 about the All Or Nothing mindset.

I believe deep down that All or Nothing just does not work. Life is hard and messy at times and can't be boiled down to a simple yes or no checkbox. Too many people struggle with being perfect or even good we don't need another item promoting it.

Thinking back to the Something is Better Than Nothing Habit Tracker Challenge. I thought I needed to bring this back. If you want to see what the original was all about check out this video.

Although I felt it needed a little upgrade. I have put in more hours than I would like to admit breathing new life into the tracker. Actually, after all the time spent, I think it is not a typical Habit Tracker and needs a different name.

It is my pleasure to share with you my amazing new tool The Consistency Score Card. Just in time for the last 9-10 weeks of 2023.
